Empowering Your Health

The Expertise of Our Registered Dietitians

Many individuals often inquire about the role of a Registered Dietitian. To clarify, our Registered Dietitians have years of education and experience and will provide evidence based recommendations to help manage a variety of health issues. In other words, we combine science-based medical nutrition therapy with the art of our experience and expertise to create a nutrition plan designed to empower you in improving your health. As your dedicated healthcare partner, we will collaborate with and support you every step of the way.

Your initial visit with one of our dietitians is a crucial step in your journey. During this session, your dietitian will review your most recent health information, including:

  • Updated Vitals

  • Medications

  • Labs

  • Physical activity level

  • Sleep quality

  • Diet Recall

Subsequently, they will share and discuss medical nutrition therapy guidelines and recommendations to help you achieve your goals and desired outcomes. Follow-up appointments will be scheduled based on how frequently your dietitian would like to meet, as well as your needs and preferences.

To make the most of your visit, we recommend the following preparations:

  • Bring your latest bloodwork: If available, please bring a copy, or we will request it from your provider.

  • Take notes: Bring paper to jot down goals, questions for later, or discussions with your doctor.

  • Define your "why": Consider what motivates you to attend the appointment, enabling you and your RD to focus on the changes you desire.

  • Embrace an open mindset: Approach the consultation with openness and collaboration. Your RD will also practice with an open mindset, as this is a very important aspect of being a healthcare professional because everyBODY is different and this isn’t a “one size fits all” approach.

  • Minimize distractions: Create a quiet space, silence calls, and eliminate other devices, especially if meeting virtually.

As a part of the Uhling team, we want to emphasize that achieving your health goals is a journey that takes time. We are here for the long haul, prioritizing sustainable changes that will last a lifetime. You’ll experience successes and challenges, each one presents an opportunity for growth, and we are committed to supporting you through every step.

We look forward to guiding you on your path to a healthier and happier life. If you have any questions or concerns before your first visit, please feel free to reach out.
